0/3/18/2020 Update: Students’ first & last names will display instead of screen-name, if available, in educator tools

Purpose: make it easy for educators to find their students within the Teacher Tools

Summary: 

• The Student List (under the Students tab) has two new sortable columns: First Name & Last Name
• In all other Teacher Tools charts, the Student column will display a student’s first & last name, if available, instead of their screen-name. 
• For example, an educator has added first and last names for Elizabeth Bennet and Hermione Granger here: 

• Reminder: educators can add student first & last names to existing students; navigate to Teacher Tools > Student Profile > Settings
  • Educators with Billing Tools enabled can add first & last names when they set up new student accounts

02/18/2020 Update: New SSAT tests for Elementary, Middle, and Upper (Version 7.0)

We've just released our new 2020-21 Elementary, Middle, and Upper Level SSAT practice tests to reflect the data and feedback we collected for the past year's exams. These updated tests include improvements to existing questions and answer choices, some brand new questions, as well as modifications to test question order to ensure consistent difficulty and question distribution.

If you printed out practice tests prior to yesterday (March 3rd, 2020) but haven't yet scored them, this will affect the scoring process. Here's what you can do:

• Students haven't yet begun the paper test? We recommend printing out the new versions of the test for your students to take. Access the new tests in the "PDFs" section of your educator account at SSATpracticetest.com.
• Students in the middle of a paper test? Your students can complete the test. Follow the scoring instructions on the last page of the test as usual--you will be prompted to indicate the version of the test you are scoring. The new tests are Version 7.0. You'll have until May 1st to score the old version.
• Students completed a test but have not yet scored it online? Follow the scoring directions on the last page of your paper test, and select the correct version when prompted. You'll have until May 1st to score the old version.

02/18/2020 Update: Educators can edit a student’s log-in username and email from Teacher Tools

Purpose: let any teacher account configure all log-in information for students

Summary:

• From Teacher Tools > Student Profile > Settings, educators can update a student’s username and email address

• From Teacher Tools > Student Profile > Settings, educators can modify students’ first & last names, parents’ names & emails

• For Tutors: billable educators can also add student names and parent names & emails when they create new students

02/18/20 Update: Last Online field in Teacher Tools charts shows how long ago – in days, months, years – that a student was active

Summary:

• Changed from displaying the specific date (mm/dd/yyyy) on which a student had last logged in

02/18/20 Update: Lock Exams tool now filters students by level

Purpose: make the Lock Exams tool easier to navigate by filtering students by level

Affects: All teacher accounts

Summary: 

• When locking exams for students of a given test level, teachers will now only see students who have materials for that test level
