Students are able to retake practice tests as many times as is helpful for them. Retaking a practice test allows students to attempt the same questions in the same order again. After completing an entire practice test, students have the option of retaking the test.
|
Educators can take this action for students using the Be Them tool. Keep in mind that, if a student’s account is in Mock Test mode they won’t see the retake option. However, as an educator, when you masquerade into their account, you will. So you can make this change on the student’s behalf.
Here’s how to help a student retake a practice test:
1. Log in to your educator account and navigate to the main Dashboard.
2. From the Dashboard, click on the name of your student.
3. This will take you to the individual student profile. The first area with all the student’s info has the Be Them button, click this.
4. Now you’re in the student’s account. Keep in mind that this tool logs you into the student’s account. Any changes you make will actually be applied to the student’s account, including starting a test or completing practice exercises. Find the test you’d like the student to retake.
|
Note: The entire practice test must be completed in order to retake all sections and log all of the scoring data. If the student hasn’t completed an optional section, you can skip that section. Doing this will then show the Retake Test button. |
Now click Retake Test.
You’ll be asked to confirm this choice. Once you do, the test will be ready to be taken again.
Results will be saved under the Analysis tab. Completed tests will show the date of completion. Unfinished tests will be labeled In Progress until completed.
Students can reset individual sections of a test. This can be helpful if the student accidentally ends the section before completing it or if they accidentally input the wrong answers from a paper test. After resetting a section, the student will be able to start it again.
|
Note: Resetting a section deletes those results. They will NOT be visible in the student’s Analysis tab. |

When the student finishes the section, the system will note that this is the second attempt.

For SAT Educators: Only entire sections can be reset. If a student needs to reset a specific module, we’d recommend having them complete the remaining sections, so that any completed work will show under Analysis. |
There are instances where it might be better to quickly start and end a section so that the Retake Test button will show. Using the Retake test option is the only way for results to be saved.
